Overview

Biomedical Engineering plays an important role in medicine, with impact ranging from AI and Cyber-Physical Systems to the Internet of Things. The objective of this special session is to report and discuss experimental, technological, and computational applications and experiences within the multidisciplinary field of Biomedical Engineering and Medical Computing. This Special Session can serve as a contributor to bridging the gap between academic developments and the technological needs in medicine, as well as fostering advances in health care in areas such as diagnosis, monitoring, physical therapy, occupational therapy, disability support, and intelligent medical systems.

Update

The 18th International Conference on Remote Engineering and Virtual Instrumentation (REV2021), planned as a hybrid event, is now moving to become a fully virtual one. It is a move that has become unavoidable given current travel restrictions, corporate travel bans, and new policies for large gatherings.

Due to the current developments relating to the COVID-19 pandemic we are unable to invite and host international guest visiting the planned conference venue in Hong Kong in February 2021. Therefore, the Steering Committee of REV2021 has decided to conduct the conference as a fully online event. The conference will be held at the same time as initially planned: between 24 and 26 February 2021. All authors will have the possibility to give remote presentations, attend other presentations, and interact with all conference participants.

And what is more - each session will be recorded, allowing you to visit anything you missed in the months after the event.

The organizers will ensure the academic quality of the event and its publications. All necessary preparations have started, including the arrangement for the publication of all accepted and presented papers by Springer.
