Overview

This Special Session aims to debate the use of emergent technologies within training, learning and teaching strategies as are the case of resources based on virtual and augmented reality (VR, AR) technologies. Their applicability and applications are spread to many areas as scientific and engineering data visualization, aerospace and aeronautics, military and industry, sales and marketing and entertainment, medicine and treatment of mental illnesses and, social communication. Engineering students will face augmented reality and virtual reality resources in their future labour environment and so there is the need to integrate these technologies in higher education as additional working tools bringing to the online experimentation another dimension. In this Special Session small communications will launch the topics to foster a broader discussion between the participants which should bring new insights to the use of technologies in the teaching/learning scenario.
